Zombie Candy by Frederick Lee Brooke

About the book:
Weaving elements of mystery, horror and romance in a hilarious romp that starts in Chicago and ends in a quaint medieval town in sun-drenched Tuscany, Zombie Candy is a genre-hopping knee-slapper of a novel. Get it on Amazon.

My review:
Zombie Candy won't satisfy your sweet tooth, but it IS a ghoulish delight!

Awhile ago I reviewed Doing Max Vinyl by this author. The first in the Annie Ogden Mysteries series. I was a bit conflicted by that story. I loved the Annie character and the background Frederick has given her but the story was really complicated and sometimes a bit too much so.

With Zombie Candy, we still have Annie and her sister Allison and brother-in-law Todd, but we also have the addition of some new and well developed characters. Candace Roach and her husband. Salvatore the PI. This story is also a bit complicated, but it is much easier to follow than Doing Max Vinyl. I think Frederick is hitting his stride now.

Candace's husband is a zombie movie fanatic, AND he is cheating on her. He just can't seem to keep it in his pants. Candace decides to get her revenge in a really creative way - but it doesn't turn out quite like she plans!

The epilogue was a little sparse and left me slightly less than satisfied, but this is quite an enjoyable read and a book with lots of twists and turns. It takes you to some pretty unexpected places. How can you not love that?

So read Zombie Candy now, then come back and tell me - if you were Candace how would YOU have gotten revenge?
