One year has gone by since Darcy Pennington's life changed forever. A
year ago she'd thought that magic only existed in fairy tales. A year
ago the existence of parallel realms would have seemed preposterous to
her. A year ago she'd had no real friends. Now all that has changed. It
is the summer before freshman year and a return to Cedar Cove Family
Camp also means a return to Alitheia for Darcy and her five friends. The
return to Alitheia is bittersweet for Darcy, however, as her elusive
purpose and uncertain future in the magical realm continues to evade
her. Egged on by the boy prince she is supposed to someday marry, Darcy
invokes the mysterious Oracle, an entity that can answer any question.
In the end, however, Darcy may discover that the answer to her question
is not worth the cost of asking it.
My review:
The Oracle begins a year after the ending of The Six. The school year has gone by and Darcy and the gang are back at Cedar Cover Family Camp in Michigan's beautiful U.P. (that's Upper Peninsula for you non-Michiganians - I hate the term Michigander!).
This time Darcy's main concern is being fated to marry the Prince who happens to be younger than she, and not exactly cool in her opinion. He's even got zits! And he's not keen to be fated to marry her either. So when he finds a possible way out Darcy jumps at the chance to question fate. This leads to all sorts of adventure and danger for Darcy and her friends. And one friend will be lost to Darcy forever. This novel is a little bit darker than The Six, and the consequences are greater. Still a great adventure and I can't wait for the next installment in this series!
Have you read The Six yet? Tell me what you thought of it.

I absolutely love this series. I was one of the lucky ones who read the first editions of them last year so I already know what happens in the 3rd book.
